For nearly a month, I'm with Ruth Schäfer visit! With great excitement we drove in my first week to the hospital! As a nurse I was doubly excited about what awaits me! It is absolutely unbelievable what I've got to face! I am fascinated and overwhelmed by the hospital and how it is organized! Even today the waiting room was full, mainly with women and young children and a few men. 3 patients were hospitalized and a new mother with her newborn child! Although much needs to be done, the doctor takes a short time to show me everything! Again, I'm standing there with my mouth open. For me and my expectations of how it might work in an African hospital so I am very pleasantly surprised! Each client receives a card with a number. With this number, the medical records are sorted and stored. The medical history of physician clients in the different treatment rooms are expected. The treatment rooms are well organized and clean!
In the pharmacy is paid exactly how many drugs are given and it has no single drug that has expired! The laboratory has a high standard! I am very surprised at what a high standard of hygiene is to find where. But not only in hospitals but also all around it looks very neat! The grass is cut by hand and the garden has no weeds! During the visits to the hospital I noticed then, Ruth has created the discipline this high standard, and how much patience and explanations are needed again and again! I am very pleased to gain an insight into the (hospital) live from Kenya to maintain and am curious what I may live to see it all! One has already become clear that Ruth and the entire club, to make all of Stephan is superhuman!
